How to find a water leak

WATCH: How we detect leaks

Most specialist leak detection companies use similar methods. There isn’t one method that’s used to locate any type of leak. Normally, several techniques are used on each job. Results from each technique allow attention to be focused on a specific area.

We’ve produced a series of videos to show examples of how leak detection techniques are used in different situations.

This video shows some of the techniques used when the source of damp could be either plumbing pipes or the roof.

  • Harry was assigned to trace a leak that damaged my ceiling. He was able to find it and immediately got top work on fixing the issue. He sourced parts needed, he rang me as well as he was stuck in traffic, which was expected.

  • Darren started on time at 8am after booking it the previous day. He listened and understood all the various issues, and proceeded to work through each one thoroughly to trace the leak. He was clearly an expert in his field, and stayed until all the issues were fixed. I really couldn't have asked for more.

  • Ben, the leak detection technician who attended my booking, provided excellent service and was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Aspect to anyone!
