Specialist Roof Leak Detection

If you are unfortunate enough to have water stains or even water dripping from a ceiling and suspect a leaking roof is the source of the problem, you’ll want to resolve the issue quickly.

However, sometimes, faults in a roof are so small that even an experienced roofer will search in vain to find them. Even if a leak is found close to the visible signs of water damage, there’s no guarantee there aren’t other pinhole leaks that remain undetected.

Our roof leak specialists use various high-tech testing methods to find faults in any roof covering. These methods are reliable for accurately locating the source of a leak and detecting multiple leaks in a single visit.

WATCH: How we detect leaks

A visual inspection of pitched roof tiles or slates will usually highlight the causes of water ingress. In other parts of a roof can be harder to detect and sometimes require specialist leak detection equipment.

This video shows how some advanced detection methods are used to locate a hard-to-find roof leak.

How to find a water leak

Flat roof leak detection

The high-voltage electronic test we use to detect the source of water ingress through flat roof coverings is very reliable. The device indicates when a hole in the roof membrane allows water to pass through to the hard deck.

It’s a cost-effective way to find multiple leaks in a degrading roof. It can be used on any type of flat roof, except some metal roofs. However, the roof surface must be dry to conduct a high-voltage leak detection survey, which is also known as a “dry test.”
